Difference between Software and Hardware Development?

Why do you prefer Software Development over Hardware Development?

They are very different domains. Each has a different approach and different laws. Primarily we are currently facing restrictions in the hardware field due to technology not able to make circuits smaller so more shift is seen towards software side. On a simple level, hardware is the "resource" and software decides "how the resources are used to do what and when".

Software is easier to change than hardware. The cost of change is much higher for hardware than for software
