you are participating in a race .you overtake the second person. what position are you in?

Here it's clearly given that in the race you overtake the second person it means you were in third position. After overtaking the second person your position become second because you have overtaken the second person not the first person. So finally after overtaking the second person my position will be second. So here my position is Second position.
