Transistor is more prominent semicondutor device in electronic world. This is used as the amplifier and switches based on the requirments and applications. The basic two types of transistors are BJT (Bipolar Junction Transistor) and FET (Field Effect Transistor). In BJT, both the minority and majority charge carriers are involved to conduct current. But only the majority charge carriers are involved to conduct current. Most of the cases, BJT Transistors are act as the amplifiers and FETs are act as the switches. Both are have three modes of operation (Active, Cutoff, Saturation modes). Any transistors starts their conduction after ehen it reach the thershold voltage (Vt). This voltage is fixed based on the type of semiconductor material used. For Si, it is 0.7 V and 0.3 V for Ge.
