if energy can neither be created nor destroyed how was it initially created

I am in bewilderment with the first law of thermodynamics. I am not doubting its validity but my conscience feels a bit hazy about it.

Energy is a  pre existing entity, if you look back to the origin of earth,it started with a big bang. But ever wondered how did the 2 entities collide to give a big bang? We may call it a  energitic collision. So it do3s prove that energy did exist even before humans found about it. Energy doesnt have a source , its like air, which can only be stored and converted into various forms.
