Engineering materials (Ductile and brittle materials)

In an interview, You are given two metals one ductile and the other is brittle and you are asked to identify which is ductile and which is brittle. How do you do that?

  • Ductile materials are materials that can be plastically twisted with no crack. They have the tendency to hold the deformation that occurs in the plastic region. A brittle material is one that will break as opposed to bending. When you apply a load, a material must twist marginally to endure the load. And frm above info if metal has no crack and twisted then the material is ductile
