Description about-3G Mobile frequency

My project about incoming call based media control using simulation.In this I need the filtered parameter of incoming call only, not SMS/Data service.My exact question is about how to differentiate the data and SMS service from incoming call in operating frequency of 3G(1800MHZ-900MHZ)?
