  • Identification of why Coding Start Region(CDS) of DNA/Protein synthesis starts with a particular Start codon even though many start codons are present before that particular Start codon using Machine learning. And designing a Classifier to distinguish between standard Start Codon(CDS) and non-standard Start Codon(all the start codons before CDS)
  • Successfully completed the project. Was able to show that first order classifiers are better than second and zero order classifiers for Markov model. And also Support Vector Machine (SVM) is much better classifier in comparison to Markov model classifiers. Also, 3D features of DNA obtained by using the Remo Rohs Lab tool for DNA shape, like minor groove width (MGW), Roll factor, Helical twist (HelT), Propeller twist (ProT) shows unique behaviour as it approaches start codons (functional as well as non-functional).
