With customer satisfaction always playing a key role in corporate decisions, the need to analyze public sentiment has grown in recent times. Furthermore, with the growth of social media, it has become possible for corporates to use the social media to mine this sentiment efficiently. Multiple algorithms exist to perform full-scale sentiment analysis, along with multiple web services. Two of them - the Naïve Bayes Classifier algorithm and the Word Sense Disambiguation followed by SentiWordNet algorithm were implemented using the programming languages Python and R with the data having being mined from Twitter. The two algorithms had similar accuracy levels, yet varied differently in speeds of execution and the use of context.
