State the baltic countries name?

There are countries in word which grouped in baltic countries and balkan countries. Can anyone explain the name and difference between them?

  • LithuaniaLatvia, and Estonia are known as the Baltic nations. Until 1991, all thee nations were part of the Soviet Union, but now they are all independent and members of the European Union. Lithuanian and Latvian are the official languages of their respective countries.

  • The Baltic States are situated around the Baltic Sea, in the north of Continental Europe. They include Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. The Balkan Countries are situated around the Balkan Mountains, in the South of Europe. They include Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, and other similar countries

  • After World War I the new sovereign states that emerged on the east coast of the Baltic sea - Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and during the Interwar period, Finland - became known as "The Baltic states".
