strongFor a steam Turbine/strongbr /In Impulse turbine the expansion of steam takes place only on moving blades whreas on fix blades, the pressure remains constant. In reaction turbine the expansion of steam takes place on both fix blades and moving blades.br /strongFor a Hydraulic turbine/strongbr /In an Impulse Turbine, the whole pressure energy is converted into kinetic energy ,before it is supplied to the moving blades. It is done with the help of nozzles.Further no change in pressure takes place.Only the Kinetic energy is converted or utilised to move the moving blades. So it is located at a High elevation . In a reaction turbine there is only partial conversion of pressure before it is supplied to the moving blades. So there is change in the pressure energy too in the moving blades. Both the pressure energy and kinetic energy is utilised to move the moving blades.br /
