what is the difference between extrusion and hydrostatic extrusion

  • an extruded rod has the lowest shape factor .extrusion is classified in general into four types they are 1.directextrusion 2. indirect extrusion 3. impact etrnusion. and hydrostatic extrusion in extrusion process the billet is placed in a container pushed through the die opening using a ram and dummyblock Hydrostatic is actually a form  of direct extrusion.the force delivered through the ram is what pressurizes the liquid .the liquid applies pressure to all surfaces of the work billet

  • Extrusion is the process of forcing the raw material into a dye forming a desired shape, that of a dye. Hydrostatic extrusion is however the same but by the the it is done with the help of liquid medium which is used to push the raw material through the dye.
