2*2=5 in a team denotes the extra strength which is expected to come when two people work together rather than working individually. But yes that doesnt mean that all 2*2 would be equal to 5 . If you want your 2*2=5 to work both the 2 should b complementary to each other i.e. the team should be of a perfect match so that both can blend together rather than the individual disputes spoiling everything. Its like a team of  two cats would work better than a team of a cat and a mouse.
