Thyroid gland synthesize, store and discharge the thyroid hormones which are thyroxine(T4) also called tetraiodothyroininec,  triidothyronine(T3) and thyro calcitonin t3 and t4 are iodinated derivatve of amino acid tyrosinet both are stored in folicular  cavity before secretion and supposed tot havehsame functions the secretion the secretion of t3 and t4 are regulatd by thyroid stimulating hormones (tsh) or thyrotropin of pituatry gland in negative feedback manner t3 is more active than t4 is more potent hormone simples goiter is caused due to defiency of iodine  in diet or water it cause enlargement
