Data Entry is basically a part of Data Management function of any company. The operators can learn what data is being captured and how fast it can be captured (this can really help to grow). People who are really engrossed can figure out the patterns and develop insights from the data (time has to be spent on doing and mastering this). Learning how the data across the organization is linked and how it can be more easily processed and accessed can give an edge to the person. This data is now the information resting with the company and the person who manages the information and its flow is really critical person for the company. Growth is inevitable then!!
