semiconductor conductance lies conductor and insulator. its valence electrons ativates when some light falls on it and goes into conductance shell and hence conducts charges.

Semiconductor is that in which the conductivity properties can be controlled.In semiconductor the doping is done so that it can be converted into different properties.Basically semiconductor are of two types-
1.n type semiconductor 
2.p type semiconductor
