Why are there so few mergers between startups?

  • Startups are about focus on the users and their technology.

    Merging is, most of the times, an exit for a startup and a start of a new era.

    Merging two successful startups does not make much sense since it would distract both from doing what they are proficient in. Long-term partnership, perhaps even profit/equity sharing, would be a way to go.
