  • Typing is a skill as there are many jobs based on typing, as the fast typist can do a particular work in less time, which reduces the work load and saves time.After practicing alot there are popular typist which have more work and less time. So typing is a skill.everybody knows it no doubt but typist are professionals as they do it as fast as possible.

  • Yes, typing remains a fundamental skill, and it is still one of the most important computer skills you can learn.

    It stands to reason that the faster you can type, the more time you will save.
    If you learn to double the speed you type, you can essentially get twice as much done in the same space of time.

    No matter whether you can touch type or not, you will still spend a lot of your time typing in almost any office-based role. Everyone knows that sitting down at your desk for long periods of time without a break is bad for your posture, so it makes sense to reduce the amount of time you sit down.

  • No, i don't think that typing is the skill as everyone knows how to do that but u can say most of people knows how to do that
    Because you're talking about a skill and skill is something which can be developed only when youre consistent hard working fellow;

  • Yes...every profession requires skill as a typist. We all have to do reports and returns..even in clinical area like myself. So it becomes a necessity to know a little typing as you dont have to depend on others.

  • yaa of course typing is the skill as everyone knows how to do it. As when it comes to type with all ten fingers with  97 or 98% accuracy  and to type any regional languages it becomes very difficult without proper training. And of course there are many jobs providing sufficient packages for typing; SSC CHSL. For example. 
    They even take skill test to check these abilities. 

    And as Mr. Bala said above it is also essential if u r a programmer.
    All I wanna say, Typing is a skill and skills take time to develope. although one knows typing but there is need of proper training and repetition to avoid errors.

  • Yeah u need typing and it is very essential when u want to be a programmer. Typing is what is the rate of words that u type /minute type as many words possible that tells how u are skillful.
    I think u can try out for software companies if ur good at programming
