Answer.. 123.... Explanation......a+(1/a)=3......(i).. Squaring (i).. we get.. a^2+(1/a^2) = (3×3)-2 = 7....(ii).... Cubing (i).. we get.. a^3+(1/a^3) = (3^3)-(3^2) = 27-9 = 18....(iii).... Multiply (ii) and (iii) to get.. a^5+(1/a^5)= (7×18)-3 = 126-3 = 123..
