Abstract: Practice of biodegradable composites increase the attraction due to its lightweight and adequate strength. These plant fiber reinforced composites have captured the attention in construction and automotive industries. Jute fiber is one of the most affordable natural fibers obtained from the genus corchorus plant. In the present article woven jute fiber reinforced polymer composites are analysed to achieve the optimum layers and orientation of fibers for their peak mechanical properties. This study deals with the analysis of symmetrical and asymmetrical woven jute fiber reinforced polymers composite. Different types of composite test coupons are prepared based on number of layers and orientation of fibers like 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75° & 90°. A Study on Mechanical Properties of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete with Magnetite Ore as a Mineral Admixture

Concrete is the furthermost eagerly used construction material and has numerous required properties like high compressive strength, stiffness and durable under usual environmental factors. This paper present an experimental study dealing with the behavior of Compressive Strength, Split Tensile strength and Flexural Strength of concrete using steel fiber as a reinforcing material and magnetite ore as a mineral admixture. The concrete cubes, cylinders and unreinforced beams were casted with different percentages of Steel fiber (0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%, and 3%) are added by volume of concrete and Magnetite ore (5%, 7.5%, 10%, 12.5%, 15%, and 17.5%) are added by weight of cement. These casted specimens were cured for different period (7, 14, &28 days) as per relevant Indian standard codes. Manual design of isolated RCC footing is a very tedious job. It demands experienced knowledge of reinforced cement concrete behavior under axial load and bending moment. A less experienced (new) engineer feel complex to analyze and design the isolated RCC footing under various types of load. Even though, check for safety against one-way shear, two-way shear, flexure failure, bending stress and development length is another difficult task. To minimize all the above mentioned complexity, soft computing technique like artificial neural network approach is adopted. Initially, optimized results of different set of input parameters are generated manually! Here, column size, axial load, safe bearing capacity of soil, characteristic compressive strength of concrete, yield strength of steel reinforcement are used as a input parameters.
