Solving aptitude questions, comprehending English passages, understanding LR DI. So basically all the things that are required to crack CAT paper (exam conducted in India for top management colleges). But to use these skills to enrich my life, first of all, I have to enrich these skills.
I am preparing for CAT exams to pursue my higher studies in management. Instead of going by the traditional method of preparing from textbooks, I chose to prepare it with the help of using Youth4work website. The most important part of preparing for any exam is analysing the question paper. What is the pattern of the paper, types of questions asked, their difficulty level, various sections of the paper, time limit etc. etc. So the best way of preparing for any competitive exam is to solve questions. Only by practising more and more questions, our preparation can be fruitful. In most of the websites, only study material is given and that too in a very uninteresting and boring manner. But as the saying goes, “practical knowledge is more important than theoretical knowledge”, application of those concepts in the questions is very important. Most of the time we memorize the shortcut formulae or some slang abbreviation to learn some concept, but when it comes to exams we can’t even remember our shortcuts let alone the original formulae or answer.
By giving online tests or the yTests (as called on the website). There’s something unique and special about these tests. Youth4work is designed in such a way that you can take sectional tests, in comparison to other websites in which you have to take the whole test in one go. For example, while preparing for CAT, the paper is divided into sections like Aptitude, Verbal, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. Now if I know that I am weak in DI then I would like to solve the DI section only and not the whole paper for 3 hours. This feature of taking sectional tests make Youth4work more convenient and likeable. Also, there are individual timers for each question. Like if you are solving DI section then you don’t have to spend complete 1 hour on this section. Each section is divided into questions which have a separate timer. So it asks you every time before showing the next question. Therefore it makes solving questions easier and convenient. The next best thing about the website is the yTal report which shows you your actual rank in your class/ college/ institution, city, state, country which you provide for filing your details. It really helps to see where you stand in the broader perspective. Also, it shows you your percentage and percentile of your questions attempted, which is really necessary while evaluating your performance.
