Effect on Annona reticulata on Human malignant cell Line A-549.

In this work, we have reported anticancer property of methanolic leaf extract of Annona reticulata. The leaves of plant material were collected, grinded in liquid nitrogen and extracted with methanol. The methanolic leaf extract of Annona reticulata was fractionated using High performance Liquid chromatography (HPLC) and all fractions were morphologically examined on malignant lung cancer cell A549. Crude extract was showed potential anticancer activity and Fractions F4 and F8 were also showed significant activity at 48 and 72 hrs respectively. Crude extract was characterized using LTQ-ESI Mass Spectrometry and molecular composition in the crude extract was reported. Anti-cancer activity of crude extract was assayed with standard MTT colorimetric procedure againstA549 cells. MTT assay of Crude extract was also showed high intensity of anti-proliferative activity in time dependent manner. IC was calculated and reported as 175 µg/ml and is found to be the less quantity as per the MTT da
