Next Generation Sequencing based DNA splice-site prediction tool development

Developed a tool which can detect splice-sites in a raw DNA sequence using next generation sequencing technique. Support vector machine was used to predict accurate Donor and Acceptor site class labels. Implemented into C using LIBSVM library.

Implementation of Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm for Jobshop Scheduling

Jul-2011 to Nov-2011

Built a heuristic which helps to solve the Jobshop scheduling problem for n jobs and m machines. Implementation was done in C of our problem specific heuristic on 3 benchmarks 6x6 Jobshop, 10x5 (10 Jobs, 5 Machines) Jobshop, 10x10 Jobshop. The results obtained were 5% to 15% of the best known till date.

Implementation of FP-Tree Algorithm for Market Basket Analysis

Jan-2011 to Apr-2011

Built up a tool that recognizes customer purchasing patterns by extracting associations or co-occurrences from a store’s transactional database giving step by step graphical simulation of the algorithm. Programming language used was Java and MySQL.
