  • WordPress is the number 1 CMS today with the highest market share. It was first introduced as a blogging platform, and now it's a complete content management software. Because of its unbelievably friendly approach, a non-coder can build a complete website on it. 

    Joomla is the 2nd most popular CMS today. Compared to WordPress, it is somewhat user-friendly but falls behind WordPress's ease of use.

    Drupal is the third most popular and the oldest CMS compared to these three platforms here. It is a developer-focused standard platform that provides reliable performance, customizability and strong security. 

    Overall I think that WordPress can be the choice for anyone to create a self-hosted website. But that doesn't mean everyone should use WordPress. If you want to use Joomla or drupal, you should be able to articulate why you are choosing these platforms over WordPress, and if you can't, you should stick with WordPress.
