What is the diff. between counter and co-current flow

The flow is studied in liq-liq extraction etc.

1) I\n counter current flow fow is in opposite direction to each other and in co -current  flow flow is in same direction .
2) In counter current heat transfer is maximum as compared co- current .
3)  In counter current log mean temprature difference (LMTD) is more as compared to co- current.
