Not necessarily. It's a skill to interact with people. A skill with certain opportunities. But regarless to that, there are other sectors of work that doesn't requires English as a skill. The question is, where you are trying to relate this question.
English is just a medium of communication. knowledge about that particular field matters the most :) But to achieve new heights you need to learn english!
It depends, what kind of job it is? If it's domestic job where ypu have to deal with only the people who can speak in your language then there is no requirement to know english for that job.
yesenglish is necessary to get jobin my view you must know minimum english though you dont know perfect english.Becoz this helps to get good carrer oppurtunities in our jobsand now this plays very importent role in mnc companies .
i dont think so eng is so much imp for the job, for me its confidence which gives u job nothing else... for example u can see may newsappers where there is many editor's who dont knw how to speak in eng bt they r good in job as well..so mine yes is noo!!!
English is necessary for communication as it is a global language spoken in many countries. However you can get top government jobs like those of IAS/IPS or any other govt jobs even if you know basic english and you are stong in subjetcs like General awareness, reasoning, mathematics, history etc required for cracking UPSC and state public service examinations.
