  • Native Table can now convert a standard grid of data into a structured table, which brings several automated benefits

  • It seems Google Sheets does not have a direct, exact alternative to the full functionality of Microsoft Excel tables. However, Google Sheets offers features like filters, pivot tables, and conditional formatting that can serve similar purposes depending on your specific needs.I cannot provide a definitive answer with specific alternatives as there were no useful search results to verify current features.

  • Google Sheets does not have a direct equivalent to Excel Tables, but similar functionality can be achieved using a combination of features: Named ranges – You can name a data range and use it in formulas, similar to structured references in Excel. Filters & Filter views – These replicate sorting and filtering features of Excel tables without altering data for other users. Data validation & dropdowns – Help maintain consistency like table controls. ARRAYFORMULA – Allows formulas to auto-fill down a column, similar to Excel table behavior.

  • If Excel Tables are still not powerful enough for your needs, you might consider these dedicated database-spreadsheet hybrids: Airtable: Best for highly structured, relational data with different views like Kanban and Gallery. Baserow: An open-source alternative to Airtable that focuses on structured data models and automated workflows. Zoho Sheet: A free spreadsheet tool that offers advanced data cleaning and AI-powered insights.

  • Google Sheets does not have the exact table functionality like Excel. However, it provides alternative features such as filters and pivot tables that help in organizing and analyzing data efficiently.

  • Yes, in Google Sheets, you can use FILTER, QUERY, and ARRAYFORMULA functions as alternatives to Excel Tables. While it lacks formal “Tables,” named ranges, conditional formatting, and dynamic formulas can replicate much of the functionality.

  • Yes!! While google sheets doesn't have Excel tables exactly you can achieve similar functionality with these alternative.like...
    1. Name range
    2. Data range with filter
    3. Pivot tables etc

  • Google spreadsheet

  • Depends on what you mean by "alternative" Google sheet is an online app you can download on your phone(Android) . Works along the same line as excel. However, excel does not require an internet connection in order to function properly. Although, you can used google sheets offline

  • Google Sheets doesn't have the same functionality as Excel when it comes to Tables. The best function to use in this scenario is INDIRECT(). Here is a good writeup on StackOverflow on how to use INDIRECT() to mimic the way Tables dynamically change in Excel when new data is added: Google Spreadsheet sum which always ends on the cell above

  • By adding macros, google sheets continues to grow into sheets continues to grow into a viable alternative to Excel for most spreadsheet users.

  • yes I can
