What is the diff. between counter and co-current flow

The flow is studied in liq-liq extraction etc.

Simply keep the meaning of prefixes co and counter,as flow youmust be knowing.Co means in the same and counter means opposite.
So,co-current means flow of liquids in same direction;counterflow means in opposite directions.

These terms are used in extraction,heat transfer and Leaching operations
