Ansys is the analysis software which works on the principle of finite element analysis (FEA).
ie A complete body is divide into number of small small menbers and they undergoe the processs o bring out the result. This is done by meshing.
In ansys you will come across different tools which can be used for the static, dynamic analsis.
Ansys provide wide range of analysis of body which provides more crrect result.
Result obtained from asys is no 100% correct but has some erors which are due to unbleness to provide all real condition.

CAD software are alwys fllowed by ansys software nsys where analysis of the designed cad part undergoes. This defines all working conditions to the body and the analysis is done.This is follwed by CAM softwares which performs manufacturing.

Ansys is Computer software. You can describe your physical problems in respective module  for example, if you are Analysing fluid related problems then you are going to use fluent module, if you are carrying out structural Analysis so there is transient structural Analysis, rigid dynamics and static structure analysis module available.
First of all you have to create geometry corresponding to your problem.(you can do it on Ansys or another softer like CATIA, Solidworks etc)
And then by calling it in ANSYS, providing boundary conditions and/or meshing you get results.
This software are now days use for analysis of products, time and cost saving in industries before carrying out real product
