Tips for Forum Moderators on how to engage a community

Youth4work stresses on the concept of community building and collaboration. Every being on this planet, be it social or wild, flourish when they live, share, and grow as a community. Recruiters are also looking for active and social employees who could contribute and share simultaneously.
Moderators are the drivers of community building. They lead by example and are the first one to be open to ideas and collaborations. Here are some quick tips for the moderators to engage their respective communities:


1. Post topics related to latest happenings: Research and find the latest news related to your community. This would arouse the curiosity of the users to read about it and share their views.

2. Post controversial topics: People tend to have different opinions on a certain topics. Such topics can start a heated discussion. But make sure that the discussion is healthy and doesn’t hurt anyone’s sentiment. Comparisons and open ended questions are some examples.

3. Send work mails to active members of your community to join you in the league of moderators

4. Invite inactive users to give their expert opinion on the hottest discussions and convince them to participate as a member of the community.

5. Upvote correct answers and appreciate the efforts of the newly active users

Share your expertise and learn from others experience. Learning by sharing is one of the most practical and effective ways to excel. Be a leader, an enabler and see your community grow.
