Is Reservation needed or not?

It was one topic asked for us in Group Discussion round in Campus Placement. Where there were equal discussions made on against and in favor.

  • Yes reservation is needed.  You people were talking about reservation until the caste system exists in India  until then it should b there . Now a days in reservation cut off Mark's also more than 60 to 70 percent.

  • No, there is no need of Reservation because each person has the appropriate skills and abilities and the person who is suitable for the particular field that person will be selects for that particular role according to their performance but if their is reservation then employess in the organization will give first preference to their caste candidates.

  • No, according to me there is no need for reservation as there were equal discussions made on against and in favour,if equal opportunities are provided in campus placement the factor of reservation is not a matter to deal with.

  • Reservation is a curse to the nation, it demoralizes the deserving student and most of the people availing Reservation are absolutely not poor. And they take it as granted, no matter at what position they reach, reservation is used by them rest of the life too, though they are not poor.

  • Reservation is a necessary evil. Which cannot be eliminated from the system. As the same time which had to be managed with strict policy and criteria. So that never missed the opportunity for the deserve person. Right person right opportunity.

  • First let us understand the concept of reservation and let us move in detail whether it is necessary or not. Reservation , the word as a self explanatory says that something to be reserved for future usage. Taking the same definition into the reservation what we are talking about(which is related to jobs). By the time Britishers left India, majority of the people who were into government companies and services were people with economically stable background. In order to encourage low income group or poor people, government has taken the concept of reservations where the seats left by britishers to be occupied by some of the people from lower income groups. So that they thought they would serving the nation and get a step away from so called poverty. Fortunately or Unfortunately people in lower income groups are really backward in their society based on community. Initially they thought they were given a great and ultimate opportunity to serve the nation, but later on stages passed and slowly the community is highlighted rather than income level as a Token of Reservation. Hence today many politicians generalised that Reservation is for community basis and not income basis, which was made to take support on their personal side. When do we reserve anything? Only when you are having something now and predicting the future to be uncertain and reserve something for the future. Similarly if the enough vacancies are there and they are to be filled with apt people who serve the nation, reserve the seats for people who are in need and real zeal to serve the nation. But from my personal observation and opinion, the government failed in implementing the rule. I have seen people who are from 3 to 4 generations are working in government offices based on community but not the income levels. Community is getting benefits rather than people who are in need. Whether you agree with me or not, but it is true. Reservation is necessary but rule the gates for the eligibility. The eligibility should not be by only community at all.

  • Yes reservation is needed and the policies should be even made stronger .Every citizen of India is against reservation but what if the same person is born in reservation caste .in India reservation castes getting benefited only 0.03% out of 100% source:1950-2016reports one out of 1000 is getting educated from RC .5out of 10000 getting jobs there is much opportunity to other non Rc .pre independence RC people were treated very low and humiliated for more than a centuries they undergone a lot even now also if you are a RC the other superior category won't get married this is what we are we fight for no reservation and equality but what exactly we do in actions just think...........I m not RC candidate RC(reservation category) jai hindh.......

  • If we think after giving reservations on caste base, even there is no equality in society, only the way like sudden demonetization in country, pm should declare like there is no caste in India ,only religion there, and abolish the reservations

  • There is all around discussion and agitations against reservation. Let my clarify one thing. This is not actually reservation but only representation who have been deprived of education, employment etc. since several millennium. When people are insisting for no reservation, why they are not discussing or even think about abolition of caste in India? Rather, people are proud to call themselves as Shastri, Verma, Sharma and so on. Till the time the caste exists in India, there is no meaning of talking about abolition of reservation (representation).

  • In the present scenario in my point of view there is no need of reservations mainly reservations based on caste is not necassary because many of the so-called backward caste people have become rich. There are no such situations which we had long back ago like untouchability etc..
